State Bank of Travancore gains on reporting 30.31% rise in Q1 net profit

State Bank of Travancore is currently trading at Rs. 487.50, up by 1.40 points or 0.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 486.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 487.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 487.50 and Rs. 487.50 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 718.50 on 30-Aug-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 451.00 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 507.90 and Rs. 481.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,437.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.30% and 18.70% respectively.

On standalone basis, the bank has posted a rise of 30.31% in its net profit at Rs 181.44 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 139.24 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 30.32% to Rs 2241.98 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1720.40 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) rose to 2.85% in the April-June quarter as against 2.18% in the same quarter previous year while net NPAs increased to 1.60%.
