REC’s arm sells stake in Jawaharpur Firozabad Transmission

Rural Electrification Corporation’s (REC) wholly owned subsidiary -- REC Transmission Projects’ (RECTPCL) entire shareholding in Jawaharpur Firozabad Transmission, comprising of 50,000 equity shares, have been transferred along with all its assets and liabilities on December 21, 2018, to Power Grid Corporation of India, the successful bidder selected through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process, for ‘Evacuation of Power from 2x660 MW Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project and construction of 400 kV substation at Firozabad along with associated Transmission Lines’.

In terms of the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, RECTPCL has received a consideration of Rs 4.12 crore.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
