Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Thursday

Most of the Asian market indices are trading lower in early deals on Thursday after tech giant Apple lowered its first-quarter revenue outlook and also warned of weaker sales in China. Meanwhile, Chinese stocks flat as the market dithered between worrying about weaker economic growth and betting on policy support to buffer that slowdown. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea are lower. Bucking the trend, Malaysia, Indonesia and Shanghai are in positive territory. The Japanese market is remained closed for a public holiday.

Hang Seng declined 72.59 points or 0.29% to 25,057.76, Straits Times dropped 23.49 points or 0.77% to 3,015.40, Taiwan Weighted slipped 70.80 points or 0.74% to 9,483.34, and KOSPI Shares down by 3.96 points or 0.20% to 2,006.04.

On the flip side, Shanghai Composite added 0.07 points to 2,465.36, Jakarta Composite gained 17.66 points or 0.29% to 6,198.84, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI up by 9.80 points or 0.59% to 1,677.91.
