Jindal Steel & Power trades higher on the bourses

Jindal Steel & Power scrip is currently trading at Rs. 407.00, up by 7.10 points or 1.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 399.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 399.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 407.90 and Rs. 399.90 respectively. So far 65,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 663.40 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 390.05 on 26-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 407.90 and Rs. 390.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 38,047 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.97% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.20% and 12.83% respectively.

On standalone basis, the company has posted a fall of 97.36% in its net profit at Rs 12.42 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 470.16 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 31.46% at Rs 3343.29 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2543.18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

On consolidated basis, the company has posted a fall of 58.06% in its net profit at Rs 385.33 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 918.79 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 18.79% at Rs 4719.03 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 3972.51 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
