Berger Paints trades jubilantly on reporting decent Q1 numbers

Berger Paints is currently trading at Rs. 149.35, up by 12.70 points or 9.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 136.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 136.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 152.30 and Rs. 135.95 respectively. So far 389700 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 153.30 on 14-Jun-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 78.15 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 152.30 and Rs. 130.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5124.97 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.57% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.90% and 11.53% respectively.

Berger Paints, one of the leading paint companies in India has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The company has reported a rise of 17.19% in its net profit at Rs 47.70 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 40.70 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income from operation of the company has increased by 16.94% at Rs 751.60 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 642.70 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Berger Paints is the third largest paint manufacturer and second largest manufacturer in decorative paints. It’s headquarter is located in Kolkata, it has distribution network of 75 stock points and 12,000 paint retailers. The company’s manufacturing facilities is located in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Pondicherry, Goa, and Jammu and Kashmir.
