Bond yields traded lower on Friday, as traders sentiment upbeat with FIEO’s report that the tariff war between the US and China is benefitting India as its exports to the neighbouring country have increased by about 32% during the June-November 2018 period to $8.46 billion.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields fell on Thursday, with the 10-year's yield hitting a one-week low, as anxiety about slowing global growth and trade tensions between China and the United States renewed safe-haven demand for U.S. government debt. Furthermore, Oil prices rose by more than one percent as turmoil in Venezuela triggered concerns that its oil exports could soon be disrupted.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 3 basis points lower at 7.53% from its previous close of 7.56% on Thursday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading flat at its previous close at 7.32% on Thursday.
