Mahanagar Gas slips despite reporting 20% rise in Q3 net profit

Mahanagar Gas is currently trading at Rs. 908.60, down by 11.65 points or 1.27% from its previous closing of Rs. 920.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 930.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 931.35 and Rs. 902.60 respectively. So far 26207 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1132.50 on 16-Mar-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 757.00 on 08-Oct-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 931.35 and Rs. 894.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9008.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.50%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.01% and 12.49% respectively.

Mahanagar Gas has reported 19.63% rise in its net profit at Rs 148.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2018 as compared to Rs 123.98 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 29.50% at Rs 844.72 crore for Q3FY19 as compared Rs 652.30 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Mahanagar Gas is a city gas distribution company. The company is engaged in the distribution of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Mumbai and its adjoining areas and in the Raigad district in the state of Maharashtra.
