Skechers USA has purchased Future Group’s 49% stake in its Indian joint venture (JV). With this, Skechers India has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Skechers USA.
The network of Skechers retail locations in India at present includes 223 retail stores - 61 of which are Skechers owned and operated while the remaining are third party owned. in addition, it is planning to open 80 to 100 stores for calender year 2019.
Future Group is India’s first and largest independent homegrown pure-play retail group. Future Group consists of 4 listed entities led by its flagship company Future Retail (India) and also has privately held businesses.
