Gujarat State Petronet advances despite reporting 9% drop in Q1FY13 net profit

Gujarat State Petronet is currently trading at Rs 73.70, up by 2.20 points or 3.08% from its previous closing of Rs 71.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 71.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 74.20 and Rs. 70.00 respectively. So far 55671 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 113.25 on 09-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 62.05 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 75.75 and Rs 70.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 3981.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.73% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.02% and 24.25% respectively.

Gujarat State Petronet has reported a fall of 9.11% in its net profit at Rs 124.84 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 137.36 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 3.49% to Rs 285.15 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs  295.45 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Gujarat State Petronet is a subsidiary Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). It has taken initiative in developing energy transportation infrastructure in Gujarat and connecting major natural gas supply sources and demand markets.
