IGL in collaboration with Tata Motors introduces Type 3 CNG Cascade: Report

11 Apr 2019 Evaluate

Indraprastha Gas (IGL) has reportedly introduced the Type 3 CNG Cascade mounted on a CNG-driven Medium Goods Vehicle (MGV) in collaboration with Tata Motors. The Type 3 cascade (cylinder casing) is a structured bunch of aluminium-lined, carbon fibre-wrapped cylinders. These ultra-light weight cylinder cascades are about 70 per cent lighter than conventional steel cylinders.

This service will be offered in areas that have CNG stations but where pipeline infrastructure is yet to reach. This will give consumers access to a substantial quantity of natural gas to start their operations without having to wait for pipeline infrastructure to develop.

IGL is engaged in distribution of CNG and PNG in Delhi. IGL laid the network for the distribution of natural gas in the National Capital of Delhi to consumers in the domestic, transport, and commercial sectors.
