07 Aug 2019 Evaluate

Rain Industries’ wholly owned subsidiary -- Rain Carbon Inc. has decided to shutdown plant situated in Uithoorn, Netherlands by the end of March 2020. The shutdown is due to eroding profitability for hydrocarbon and C9 aromatic resins, particularly for printing inks adhesives. The plant is engaged in the business of downstream production of resins & modifiers using derivatives from coal & petro tar distillation.

The company is evaluating the cost of closure. Even though the plant is getting closed, the revenues will be mostly shifted from Uithoorn, the Netherlands to Duisburg, Germany.

Rain Industries is engaged in the business of manufacturing cement, Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) and power. It is the largest producer of CPC with a production capacity of 2.49 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
