In a bid to trim debt and invest in new ventures, GMR Infrastructure is planning to mop up around Rs 3,000-4,000 crore by stake sales and churning of assets in some projects in road and power sectors.
The company had a net debt of Rs 33,600 crore in its books as of FY12 and it is in process of reducing its debt level to deleverage its balance sheet.
The company reported a fall of 26.46% in its net profit at Rs 18.01 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 24.49 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, the total income of the company has increased by 92.60% at Rs 516.04 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 267.94 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
