Vedanta trades higher on the BSE

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 138.65, up by 2.85 points or 2.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 135.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 137.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 140.55 and Rs. 135.05 respectively. So far 917254 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 246.90 on 03-Oct-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 125.70 on 22-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 140.55 and Rs. 129.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 51538.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.14%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.45% and 10.39% respectively.

Vedanta has planned an outlay of over Rs 800 crore for setting up 4,000 'Nand Ghars' across the country over next few years. Nand Ghar is company’s flagship programme to directly benefit 2,00,000 children and 1,80,000 women on an annual basis. Nand Ghars are equipped with televisions for e-learning, solar panels for reliable power, safe drinking water and clean toilets. The company’s 1,000th Nand Ghar was inaugurated on August 28.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
