Country’s leading gas transporter and marketer, GAIL India has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UPSIDC for facilitating development of Plastic Park at Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh. The company has inked MoU on September 05, 2012 at New Delhi.
Besides, GAIL India is in advanced stage of augmenting its polymer capacity from its petrochemical complex in UP from 4.1 lakh tonnes per annum (ltpa) to 9 lakh tonnes per annum. UPSIDC initiative of setting up an industrial belt for plastic processing units shall provide the much needed boost to overall economic development of this region.
For the growth and development of these industrial units, GAIL India shall contribute towards regular supply of raw material at competitive market price, provide technical support to plastic processors and establish a polymer warehouse to cater to the needs of the industrial units.
Moreover, UPSIDC plans to provide entire basic infrastructure, including land at attractive rates, road transport, water supply and adequate safety and security to the prospective industrial units in this plastic park.
