Bajaj Auto declines on reporting 11% fall in August sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2784.70, down by 3.40 points or 0.12% from its previous closing of Rs. 2788.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2785.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2801.00 and Rs. 2762.15 respectively. So far 7268 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3145.55 on 17-May-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2400.00 on 29-Jul-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2814.45 and Rs. 2688.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 80743.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.52%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.18% and 23.30% respectively.

Bajaj Auto has registered a fall of 11% in total sales to 390,026 units in August 2019 against 437,092 units in August 2018.  The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 10% and stood at 325,300 units in August 2019 under review against 362,923 units in August 2018. The company has reported 13% fall in commercial vehicles sales, which stood at 64,726 units as compared to 74,169 units in month of August 2018.

However, the company’s total exports stood at 181,917 units, registering a marginal gain of 0.25% as compared to 181,461 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
