PNB, UBI, OBC form 23 working groups for overseeing amalgamation process

Punjab National Bank (PNB), United Bank of India (UBI) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) have formed 23 working groups for overseeing the amalgamation process. Earlier, the board of PNB had given in-principle approval for amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce and the United Bank of India with it. The amalgamation has to be in terms of technology, products and services, and common services.

These groups, which will be working on various banking aspects such as product, processes and human resources, will have participants from the three banks.

PNB is one of the oldest banks in India having a virtual presence in every important center of the country. The Bank caters to a wide variety of audience through spectrum of services including corporate and personal banking, industrial finance, agricultural finance and international finance.
