Asian Paints gains as its arm divests entire stake in Berger Paints Singapore

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs. 1534.85, up by 14.30 points or 0.94% from its previous closing of Rs. 1520.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1525.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1542.95 and Rs. 1524.80 respectively. So far 13500 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1621.95 on 30-Aug-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1119.60 on 23-Oct-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1574.00 and Rs. 1501.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 146877.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.70% and 21.51% respectively.

Asian Paints’ wholly owned subsidiary -- Asian Paints International, Singapore (APIPL) has divested its entire stake in Berger Paints Singapore (BPS), wholly owned subsidiary of APIPL to Omega Property Investments, Australia.

BPS had a limited presence in the Singapore coatings market and was not material to the overall International operations of AP group. The consideration received from the sale is Singapore Dollar (SGD) 4 million.

Asian Paints is engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling and distribution of paints, coatings, products related to home decor, bath fittings and providing of related services. The Company's business segments are Paints and Home Improvement.
