Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals’ board has approved the expansion of existing Caustic Soda Plant at Dahej Complex from 785 MTPD to 1310 MTPD (from 1200 MTPD earlier approved). This upward expansion from earlier approved 1200 MTPD capacity to 1310 MTPD would lead to additional investment of Rs 50 crore over and above the Project Cost of Rs 825 crore. Therefore, the estimated Project Cost considering the said upward expansion and installation of 65 MW of Coal based Power Plant at Dahej Complex would be Rs 875 crore.
The Project, when implemented, will contribute approximately Rs 480 crore in sales of the company at the prevailing market prices. The estimated figure of turnover remains unchanged due to decrease in the prevailing market price of Caustic Soda group. The Board of directors of the company at its meeting held on November 07, 2019 has approved for the same.
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals is engaged in business of manufacturing basic chemicals such as sodium cyanide, sodium ferrocyanide, chloromethanes, hydrochloric acid, caustic potash, potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid (85%) and hydrogen peroxide.
