17 Sep 2012 Evaluate

Reliance power has commissioned a 400 Kv switchyard at the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant. With the 3,960 MW sasan UMPP is now connected to the national grid. The project is now ready to draw power from the grid to provide start - up power for the first 660 MW units which is nearing completion, five month ahead of the scheduled date of commissioning. The same switchyard would enable evacuation of the power to seven states which would be using power from Sasan UMPP.

The company had earlier informed that coal production had already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Mohar and Moher - Amlohri coal mines. Sasan UMPP thus has both the fuel as well as the off - take systems in place for its commissioning ahead of schedule.

Reliance Power is a part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and is established to develop, construct and operate power projects domestically and internationally.
