Tata Power slips despite reporting 26% rise in Q3 consolidated net profit

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 60.55, down by 0.35 points or 0.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 60.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 60.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 61.55 and Rs. 59.05 respectively. So far 375326 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 76.90 on 02-Apr-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 50.40 on 21-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 62.00 and Rs. 59.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16404.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 36.21%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 47.71% and 16.08% respectively.

Tata Power Company has reported a fall of 97.44% in its net profit at Rs 6.94 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2019 as compared to Rs 270.77 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 17.56% at Rs 1,933.54 crore for Q3FY20 as compared Rs 2,345.51 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a rise of 26.08% in its net profit attributed to the owners at Rs 178.86 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 141.86 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company fell 10.77% at Rs 7,136.04 crore for Q3FY20 as compared Rs 7,997.42 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
