REC jumps on getting nod to amalgamate wholly owned subsidiaries

REC is currently trading at Rs. 148.45, up by 6.20 points or 4.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 142.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 147.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 149.00 and Rs. 143.20 respectively. So far 403928 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 169.55 on 04-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 115.60 on 06-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 149.10 and Rs. 136.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29001.67 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.63%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.72% and 7.64% respectively.

REC has received approval for the scheme of amalgamation of both wholly owned subsidiaries of the Company namely, REC Transmission Projects Company and REC Power Distribution Company. This is in line with in-principle approval accorded by the Ministry of Power on November 11, 2019.

The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on February 04, 2020 has approved the same.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
