Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company, is reportedly all set to enter the Latin American market by setting up an assembly facility in Mexico. The company will assemble Tata Vista, Tata Indica, Tata Manza, Tata Aria and Nano in Mexico. The company is also likely to invest around $100 million for the Mexico assembly facility.
The company will get some duty exemption if at all a company invests up to $100 million and pledges to build 50,000 vehicles or above, as per the Mexican laws. It aims an expansion into the Latin American market and it also plans to take association of the local partner, which will help in souring and building a network of suppliers.
