SBI Mutual Fund has bought 11.93 lakh shares of non-banking financial company Shriram City Union Finance in an open market deal. The asset management company has purchased the shares at Rs 750 per piece valuing the transaction at around Rs 89.50 crore.
Out of 11.93 lakh shares, 9.35 lakh shares of the company were purchased from Van Gogh, an arm of Chrys Capital while the rest of the 2.58 lakh shares were bought from ICICI Venture Fund A/C Advantage Fund. Van Gogh held 66.25 lakh shares constituting 12.64% stake in the non-banking finance company as of June 30, 2012.
Shriram City Union Finance has presence in the following business segments - loan Against Gold (LAG), Small Business Finance Loans (SBF), Auto Loans, 2-Wheeler loans, Personal Loans and Consumer Durables Loans.
