Vedanta’s Aluminium & Power business has reportedly inked a pact to deploy GE's Digital Smelter solutions at its largest smelter in India at Jharsuguda in Odisha. The move is expected to substantially reduce specific power consumption at the smelter.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
