NHPC has raised Rs 500 crore through private placement of secured, redeemable, taxable, non-cumulative, non-convertible 6.89% NHPC AA-1 Series Bonds. These bonds are proposed to be listed on Wholesale Debt Market (WDM) segment of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE).
NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
