GE Power India has exercised its right to terminate the contract awarded by Navayuga Engineering Company (NECL) due to prolonged suspension of work by NECL without any virtual certainty of resumption of work in near future.
Earlier, the company had been awarded the contract worth approximately Rs 818.30 crore (i.e. approximately $126 million) by NECL for design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 12 nos. of 80 MW each capacity full Kaplan Turbine Generator units along with all auxiliary and associated equipment.
GE Power India is engaged in the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and servicing of power plants and power equipment.
