SJVN has decided to donate Rs 5 crore to PM-CARES Fund to combat the coronavirus outbreak. The company has also earmarked a separate fund of Rs 3 crore to contain the spread of the virus. The fund will be utilised for purchasing ventilators, distributing personal protective equipment like face masks, gloves, setting up of quarantine units in its project hospitals.
SJVN is engaged in hydroelectric power generation originally established as a joint venture between the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh to develop and operate the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS).
