Tata Power moves up as its arm acquires additional 10% stake in ABV

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 33.60, up by 0.25 points or 0.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 33.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 34.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 34.20 and Rs. 33.40 respectively. So far 451283 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 74.05 on 03-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 27.00 on 12-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 34.60 and Rs. 29.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9020.42 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.22%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.46% and 16.31% respectively.

Tata Power Company’s wholly owned subsidiary -- Tata Power International (TPIPL) has acquired 10% equity stake of Adjaristqali Netherlands B.V. (ABV) from International Finance Corporation (IFC) for a sum of $150,000. This acquisition has been done as per the provisions of the shareholder agreement. Post this acquisition, the company, through TPIPL, holds 50% stake in ABV.

ABV owns 100% stake in Adjaristqali Georgia LLC (AGL) which has developed the 187 MW hydro project in Georgia at a cost of around USD 500 million. It has commissioned 178 MW of the total capacity in March 2020.
