REC surges on the BSE

REC is currently trading at Rs. 86.10, up by 1.85 points or 2.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 84.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 85.85 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 86.60 and Rs. 84.25 respectively. So far 209207 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 169.55 on 04-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 79.00 on 26-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 89.25 and Rs. 83.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16934.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.63%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.00% and 8.36% respectively.

REC has tied up with TajSATS (a joint venture of Indian Hotels Company and SATS) to provide food to frontline health workers fighting the COVID-19 battle. The company  is spearheading the mission to feed the medical staff in key government hospitals as well as poor daily wage labourers across the nation, through collaborative efforts. This initiative was started when the country went under a nationwide lockdown and will continue for its entire duration.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
