Monnet Ispat & Energy gains despite SEBI slaps Rs 6 lakh fine for disclosure lapses

Monnet Ispat & Energy is currently trading at Rs. 14.45, down by 0.07 points or 0.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 14.38 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 14.62 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 14.62 and Rs. 14.05 respectively. So far 9857 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 25.00 on 28-Jun-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 8.00 on 26-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 15.40 and Rs. 14.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 669.11 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.35%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.38% and 7.27% respectively.

Markets regulator SEBI has imposed a penalty of Rs 6 lakh on Monnet Ispat & Energy for disclosure lapses. SEBI had conducted probe regarding the company's compliance with provisions of LODR (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) norms.

The probe found that the company, in its quarterly financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2017, December 31, 2016, September 30, 2016, June 30, 2016, March 31, 2016, failed to disclose to BSE the extent and nature of security created and maintained with respect to its listed non-convertible debentures (NCDs), as required under LODR Regulations.

Monnet Ispat and Energy is engaged in the business of conducting coal mining operations and manufacturing coal-based sponge iron and various other steel/iron-based products.
