Tata Power inches up after its arm completes sale transaction of ships for $212.76 million

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 50.45, up by 0.05 points or 0.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 50.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 50.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 51.05 and Rs. 50.10 respectively. So far 1163400 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 70.45 on 08-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 27.00 on 12-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 51.15 and Rs. 44.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13659.11 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.22%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.46% and 16.31% respectively.

Singapore-based Trust Energy Resources (TERPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has completed sale of its three ships viz. MV Trust Agility, MV Trust Integrity and MV Trust Amity to Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co. KG, Germany for a consideration of $212.76 million.

TERPL will now cater to the shipping requirements of the Company's imported coal-based CGPL plant at Mundra under an asset light model which will help unlock significant value and returns for the Company's shareholders. The sale proceeds will be used towards reducing the debt as well as to fund future growth plans.
