Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Thursday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks are trading higher on Thursday, buoyed on the expectations for economic recovery and as investors looked ahead to earnings season. Even though, concerns surrounding flare-ups in the coronavirus pandemic limited he gains. Japan's Nikkei is advancing following positive cues from Wall Street overnight and as the sentiments got boosted with the upbeat core machine orders figure of Japan. Among the other Asian markets, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Indonesia and Malaysia are in positive territory. Bucking the trend, Singapore is trading lower.

Nikkei 225 up by 147.70 points, 0.66% to 22,586.35, Hang Seng rose by 60.80 points or 0.23% to 26,189.98, Taiwan Weighted lifted 48.87 points or 0.40% to 12,219.06, KOSPI Index slipped by 15.27 points or 0.71% to 2,174.15, Jakarta Composite buoyed by 16.36 points, 0.32% to 5,092.53, Shanghai enlarged 35.17 points or 1.03% to 3,438.61 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI higher by 3.31 points or 0.21% to 1,586.81.

On the flip side, Straits Times down by 8.62 points or 0.32% to 2,660.87.
