Tata Metaliks rises on re-starting operation of MBF No 2

Tata Metaliks is currently trading at Rs. 66.80, up by 1.35 points or 2.67% from its previous closing of Rs. 65.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 67.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 68.15 and Rs. 66.30 respectively. So far 16,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 79.90 on 21-Oct-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 51.00 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 69.00 and Rs. 65.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 169 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.10% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 3.39% and 46.51% respectively.

Tata Metaliks has re-started its operation of mini blast furnace (MBF) No 2 from October 03, 2012. The company had earlier decided to shut down its MBF No 2 for a period of 60 days with effect from June 25, 2012. The company had taken this step due to relining and expansion of working volume.

Tata Metaliks was set up as a joint venture between Tata Steel and WBIDC (West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation) to manufacture pig iron at its plant at Kharagpur, West Bengal. It has two plants at present, one located at Kharagpur (West Bengal) and the other at Redi (Maharashtra).
