Canara Bank gains on reporting 23% rise in Q1 net profit

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 104.25, up by 1.10 points or 1.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 103.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 106.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 106.00 and Rs. 103.70 respectively. So far 149201 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 239.40 on 19-Aug-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 73.85 on 24-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 106.00 and Rs. 98.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14992.87 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.55%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.00% and 9.45% respectively.

Canara Bank has reported 23.45% rise in its net profit of Rs 406.24 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 as against net profit of Rs 329.07 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased 47.10% at Rs 20685.91 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 14062.39 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, in Karnataka. It was established at Mangalore in 1906, making it one of the oldest banks in the country.
