MOIL edges higher despite reporting 98% fall in Q1 net profit

MOIL is currently trading at Rs. 152.95, up by 0.10 points or 0.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 152.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 155.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 156.80 and Rs. 152.80 respectively. So far 10357 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 170.00 on 13-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 86.80 on 24-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 164.20 and Rs. 145.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3626.37 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.35%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.68% and 16.96% respectively.

The company has reported 97.93% fall in its net profit at Rs 1.88 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2020 as compared to Rs 90.68 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 45.85% at Rs 178.05 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 328.82 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India. It currently operates many underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and various opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi).
