HDFC Bank strengthens on reporting 30% rise in Q2 net profit

HDFC Bank is currently trading at Rs. 631.00, up by 6.45 points or 1.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 624.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 630.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 635.15 and Rs. 626.15 respectively. So far 252127 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 639.25 on 26-Sep-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 400.45 on 19-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 635.15 and Rs. 616.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 148739.76 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 23.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.24% and 17.56% respectively.

HDFC Bank has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The bank has posted a rise of 30.07% in its net profit at Rs 1559.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 1199.35 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 24.47% at Rs 9869.77 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 7929.38 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declined to 0.91% in the July-September quarter as against 1.00% in the same quarter previous year while net NPAs remained same at 0.2%.
