SJVN inches up on signing MoU with Ministry of Power

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 22.05, up by 0.10 points or 0.46% from its previous closing of Rs. 21.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 22.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 22.40 and Rs. 21.90 respectively. So far 6716 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 27.30 on 20-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 17.15 on 13-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 22.45 and Rs. 21.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8625.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 86.77%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.82% and 4.42% respectively.

SJVN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Power, Government of India for the year 2020-21. As per the targets set in the MoU, the company shall strive to achieve 9,680 million units of electricity generation during 2020-21 under ‘Excellent’ category. Further, it will have capital expenditure target of Rs 2,880 crore and turnover target of Rs 2,800 crore under ‘Excellent’ category along with other targets related to operational efficiency and project monitoring.

SJVN is engaged in hydroelectric power generation originally established as a joint venture between the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh to develop and operate the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS).
