Asian equity benchmarks are trading mostly higher on Thursday, in a holiday-thinned trade. Market sentiments got lifted by the positive cues from Wall Street overnight amid optimism about new US coronavirus relief bill. Markets in China, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong are closed for holidays. While, Nikkei shares remained suspended after the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) earlier halted trading in all stocks citing technical problems. Among the remaining Asian markets, Singapore and Indonesia are trading higher. While, Malaysia is in negative side.

Straits Times up by 34.18 points 1.39% to 2,500.80 and Jakarta Composite diminished by 49.07 points or 1.01% to 4,919.11.

On the flipside, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped by 12.68 points or 0.84% to 1,492.14.
