KK Birla Group company, Sutlej Textiles and Industries has bagged Niryat Shree Gold award for attaining 77% growth in exports in 2009-10. The company manufactures broad range of poly viscose, poly wool, linen and stretch fabric and supplies to big retailers such as Gap, Levis, CK, TMW, Burton, Next, M&S in the US and the UK. The company also produces curtains, upholstery and made-ups and sells in home textiles, while it has exports exposure to more than 60 countries.
The company has 260,872 spindles for spinning yarn, six million metres a year for apparel fabrics, 1.6 million trousers a year and 3 million metres a year for home textiles fabric. It has plants in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
