Asian markets end lower on Friday

30 Oct 2020 Evaluate

Asian markets ended lower on Friday, hit by tracking a global sell-off on fears of surging corona virus cases in the United States as well as Europe and ahead to next week’s American presidential election. Chinese shares ended lower as the China’s ruling Communist Party concluded its key annual conclave during which it approved the 14th Five-Year Plan and Vision 2035, a long-term development plan which observers say hints at the continuation of President Xi Jinping in power for the next 15 years. Japanese shares finished down on concerns over economic recovery in global markets, while official data showed factory output in Japan surged 4.0 percent in September from the previous month, mainly due to strength in car and production machinery manufacturing. That exceeded expectations for a gain of 3.2 percent following the 1.0 percent increase in August.
