South Indian Bank (SIB) will be sponsoring the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) for the second year in a row. GKSF has secured the title sponsorship from the bank for its sixth season and the bank has raised its contribution to the festival to the tune of Rs 4 crore this year.
The season 6 of GKSF will start on December 15, 2012 and conclude on January 31, 2013. The 48-day fiesta will take place across all 14 districts and is expected to involve nearly 10,000 retail outlets and attract 30 million customers.
The bank registered a jump of 49.16% in its net profit at Rs 123.04 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 82.49 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 39.50% at Rs 1144.41 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 820.35 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
