Indian Hotels trades jubilantly on opening Connaught hotel after renovation

The Indian Hotels Company is currently trading at Rs. 113.05, up by 13.75 points or 13.85% from its previous closing of Rs. 99.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 107.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 113.85 and Rs. 105.00 respectively. So far 675323 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 158.00 on 13-Nov-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 62.10 on 18-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 113.85 and Rs. 95.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13165.09 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 40.75%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.98% and 17.26% respectively.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has opened The Connaught, a hotel under its SeleQtions brand, in New Delhi. The hospitality major had acquired 33 years licensing rights for The Connaught in an e-auction conducted by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in June 2018.

The hotel features 104 rooms conceptualised by the globally-renowned Christian Lundwall of Lundwall Architects. According to the company, the cost of the renovation of the hotel is around Rs 80 crore.

Indian Hotels Company and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces and recognized as one of Asia's largest and finest hotel company. It operates in the luxury, premium, midmarket and value segments of the market.
