NHPC jumps on planning to commission 2,000 MW Subansiri hydropower project by March 2022

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 22.40, up by 0.55 points or 2.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 21.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 22.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 23.00 and Rs. 21.90 respectively.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 29.00 on 20-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 15.15 on 18-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 23.00 and Rs. 21.30 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.95%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.70% and 10.36% respectively.

NHPC is planning to commission its 2,000 MW Subansiri hydropower project by March 2022. The various construction activities and downstream river protection works undertaken by the company. Construction work of the ambitious project at Gerukamukh along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Subansiri river was halted from December 2011 to October 2019 due to protests by locals and many groups fearing about safety and the adverse impact on the downstream of the river. The initial project cost was estimated at Rs 6,285 crore.

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
