Kingfisher Airlines extends partial lockout till October 23

Kingfisher Airlines has extended the partial lockout of operations until October 23, 2012. The airline company had a positive meeting with employee representatives on October 17, 2012 and is hopeful of reaching common ground when they meet again next week.

The cash-strapped airline is presently anticipating that they would resume the operations on November 6, 2012, subject to its resumption plan being reviewed and approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India (DGCA).

On October 1st, the airline had declared a lock-out, after staff across various sections, including engineers, went on strike. Initially, the lock-out was till October 4 but was later extended till October 12 and it’s again extended till October 20, 2012.
