Canara Bank surges on raising Rs 1,635 crore via bonds

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 129.90, up by 0.95 points or 0.74% from its previous closing of Rs. 128.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 128.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 131.60 and Rs. 128.40 respectively. So far 608170 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 230.00 on 03-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 73.85 on 24-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 131.60 and Rs. 120.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21366.43 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.55%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.19% and 10.27% respectively.

Canara Bank has raised Rs 1,635 crore through issuance and allotment of Basel III Compliant Additional Tier I Bonds at 8.50 per cent coupon on December 31, 2020. The funds raise will help the bank boost its capital adequacy ratio.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, in Karnataka. It was established at Mangalore in 1906, making it one of the oldest banks in the country.
