CESC’s board has decided to reorient and reorganize the power distribution business of the company under Eminent Electricity Distribution (Eminent), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, as its distribution arm and, over a period of time and subject to applicable laws, consolidate in Eminent all investments of the company in distribution business (other than in its operations in Kolkata and adjoining areas).
CESC is engaged in power generation and distribution in state of West Bengal. The company is a fully integrated power utility with its operation spanning the entire value chain right from mining coal, generating power and distribution of power.
