JK Paper enters into JVA for manufacturing and sale of corrugated packaging products

JK Paper, India’s largest producer of branded papers has entered into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Oji Holdings Corporation, Japan (Oji), Marubeni Corporation, Japan (Marubeni) and Oji India Packaging (OIPPL) for the purpose of manufacturing and sale of corrugated packaging products by OIPPL, Haryana.

OIPPL was incorporated in June 2012 in Haryana, India, for the purpose of manufacturing and sale of corrugated packaging products. OIPPL proposes to set up a manufacturing facility at RIICO Neemrana Industrial Park Phase 3, Rajasthan and has been allotted land for this purpose. The said project with a capacity to manufacture corrugated packaging product of 34,000 tonnes per annum envisage a capital investment of about Rs 150 crore.

The project envisages sale of corrugated packaging products to large number of consumers in this geographical area consisting of companies in the auto components, high end electronic and consumer durable sectors. The total paid up capital in OIPPL is proposed to be about Rs 75 crore to be held in the proportion of about 60%, 20% and 20% by Oji, Marubeni and the company respectively.

JK Paper is India’s largest producer of branded paper and is a leading player in the printing and writing segment. It is also engaged in outsourcing activity wherein it contracts the capacities of other mills in India and abroad to manufacture various grades of paper, maintaining the same quality and service assurance.
