Hindustan Copper gains on raising Rs 500 crore through QIP

Hindustan Copper is currently trading at Rs. 139.85, up by 0.55 points or 0.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 139.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 145.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 145.00 and Rs. 137.25 respectively. So far 127719 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 165.10 on 02-Mar-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 23.50 on 12-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 149.40 and Rs. 130.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13523.83 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 76.05%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.37% and 10.58% respectively.

Hindustan Copper (HCL) has raised Rs 500 crore through issuance of shares to institutional investors. The qualified institutions placement (QIP) of Rs 500 crore has been fully subscribed. The funds from the QIP are proposed to be used to fund the ongoing capex/expansion plan of the company.  The QIP of HCL closed on April 12 with wide participation from diverse investors including mutual funds, insurance companies, banks and foreign institutional investors. Launched on April 7, this is the first time issuance of a central public sector enterprise to raise funds by issue of shares via QIP.

Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
