Aptech tumbles as SEBI slaps fine of Rs 1 crore for violating insider trading norms

Aptech is currently trading at Rs. 202.05, down by 2.15 points or 1.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 204.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 205.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 206.90 and Rs. 201.30 respectively. So far 11164 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 248.00 on 18-Feb-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 92.90 on 29-Jun-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 211.00 and Rs. 198.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 825.88 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 48.48%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.92% and 41.60% respectively.

SEBI has slapped a fine of Rs 1 crore on Aptech for violating insider trading norms back in 2016. An investigation was conducted by the regulator to ascertain whether there was any disclosure lapses and violation of PIT (Prohibition of Insider Trading) norms by Aptech during the period from August to September 2016.

Aptech is a pioneer in the non -formal vocational training business in the country.
