Tata Motors advances on securing two awards for JLR from Autoweek

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 162.00, up by 0.30 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 161.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 160.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 164.70 and Rs. 157.70 respectively. So far 2059911 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 276.28 on 06-Dec-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 137.65 on 13-Sep-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 164.70 and Rs. 137.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 43519.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.84% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.00% and 8.78% respectively.

Auto major, Tata Motors has secured two awards for Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) from Autoweek at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The company’s Jaguar C-X16 was chosen as the ‘Best in Show’ winner and the Land Rover Defender Concept 100 Sport as ‘Best Concept’ by Autoweek. Winning two of the top media awards in the industry at the Frankfurt Motor Show is a tremendous achievement for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

Recently, the company’s global sales surged 3% to 87,459 units in August, compared to the same month a year ago. Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were rose 31% at 21,242 vehicles in August 2011. While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand were declined by 10% last month to 3,409 units, Land Rover sales were up by 43% at 17,833 units.
